How to reset properly a breaker

Turn the circuit breaker to the "Off" position, then flip it back to the "“On"” position.

When a circuit breaker has been tripped —whether it’s because of pushing the test button on a GFCI, AFCI or because of an overcurrent event —the breaker switch moves to the middle position between “"On"” and "“Off".” If you are trying to reset it just by pushing the switch back to the “"On"” position, some it will just pop back to the middle again and some they going to stay in "On" position but he circuit remains unactivated. You have to push the breaker switch all the way to the "“Off"” position, then back to “"On"” position in order to reactivate the circuit.
